The kerosene lamp was then put in the stove and lighted paper applied in the expectation that an explosion would be produced. -Fortunately the fire was set at the base instead of the mouth of the lamp, and the oil was not ignited. In certain parts) of the State, and particularly in the Fourth Senatorial District, he asserts that the party were sold out by their leaders. WASHINGTON, 25.—Judge Kelly, Chairman of the House Committee on Coinage, Weights and Measures, introduced a bill to-day, which pro- poses the discontinuance of the one and two cent bronze pieces, and the adoption of one, three and five cent pieces of the samo alloy, nickel, copper and silver,'with uniform emblems, devices and color. J ' It ia proposed to have the head of the Goddess of Liberty on the obverse and the numeral one and two on the reverse of these coins; the nu- merals to be raised sufficiently to render the coins plainly distinct by the touch from our gold and silver coins. > The bill provides for the discontinuance of .the three and five cent silver coins, and also the three* five and ten cent currency notes. .
