The wife of Jacob Huver, Jr.,dted last Thursday evening of consumption. She was thirty-one years of age. She leaves a husband and one child to mourn ber loss. The funeral was held from S t Patrick's church, Monday morning. FRED 8ATE8. Fred Bates died at the home of his mother on Adams street Sunday after noon, of typhoid pneumonia. H e WAS twenty-six years old and unmarried. The funeral will take place at the house on Thursday at ten a. m. XRS. nxxxnicr Biar.it. Juliette W. widow of the late Bete- dict Bagley died at her homo corner of Liberty and Elizabeth streets, last Thurs day at the ripe old age of elghty-slx years. She had for years been an in valid, from a spinal trouble, and her life has undoubtedly been lengthened mater ially by the tender ministrations of her only living child, Miss Mary Bagley, whose constant devotion to her for years past has done much to lighten her afflic tion and comfort her in her declining years. The family moved here from Nundaln 1860, and In 1670 Mr. Bagley died, since which time tbe mother and daughter have lived alono. Deceased has but one near relative living, L. G Woodruff, who is her half-brother, and whose borne U in Buffalo. Tbe funeral was held at the house on Sunday after noon at three o'clock. (Bill) Nye, died last Satur day night, (Feb. 22) at his home near Ashevllle, N. C. Ills wife, two sons and two daughters were precent when he died. Be was born in Maine,In August, 1890. He was admitted to the bar in 1870. but turned his attention to liter ature. Was a voluminous and popular writer with an enviable reputation on both sides of tbe Atlantic He was not only full of wit and humor, but of all thisa aindly stmtlments that are a credit to human nature. The following anec dote with many others Is told of him: \Bis father still live^on bis Vermont farm.
