FREDERIC HODGES. The chorus choir of the Methodist church gave a delightful concert be- fore a large audience last evening at the church under the direction of Prof. Frederic Hodges, organist of 4 the church and director of the choir. The vogal organization was assisted soprano; Harry Arnold, bantone, James D. Gbuldinu, Vlohnist, Fred J. Batty, corneust | Hodges at the plano. The program was sufficiently var- lied to ensure its pleasing all tastes, | and that it was most successfully carried out there is no gainsaying. This was largely due to the efforts put forth by Director Hodges, who result that was attained. |_ Miss Hughes, the soprano, is so well known in Johnstown that it seems hardly necessary to more than call attention to the fact that she was here last evening and assisted Miss Hughes is at present connected with the Utica Conservatory of Music, one of the best schools of musical instruction in the state. pleasing voice, which was heard to good advantage in Torrente's \Show Me Thy Ways.\ DeLangs \How Hawley. All three songs were ad- mirably interpreted. Mr. Arnold sang \Soldiers of Christ Arise.\ To those who hag tone soloist in the former quartette choir of the ' Methodist church, his who had never heard him before, | quite a revelation.
