Beckwith, Esq., Clerk. Present all the Supervisors except Messrs. Tay- lor and Chappel. Mr. Rogers was on motion duly elected chair- man pro tern. The Board on the ratition of Mr Bowen then proceeded to ballot informally for a permanent Chairman with the following result, to-wit: Mr. Heed received 7 votes, Mr. Lapham 4, and Mr. Parsons 1. The Bdard, on the motion of Mr. Turner, pro- ceeded to ballot formally for Chairman with the following result: whole number of votes cast 12, of which Mr. Reed received 6 voles, and Mr. Laphiim 6. On motion of Bowen a second formal ballot was taken with the following result: the whole number of voles cast was 12, pf which Mr. Reed received 7 votes, and Mr. Lapham 5; Mr. Reed was on the motion of Mr. Laphem unanimously declared elected as Chairman of the Board for the ensuing year. The Board, on motion of Mi 1 . Lapham, pro cccded to ballot informally for Clerk, with the following result: the whole number of votes cast was twelve, of which, B. M. Beckwith, Esq., received5 Votes. Thomas Fassett, Esq., '• 3 \ John Crowley, \ 2 u H: E. Barnard, Esq } \ 1 \ Hiley, Esq., \ 1 \ The* Board then on motion of Mr. Sawyer prnceded to ballot formally for Clerk, resulted as follows:—the whole number of votes cast was twelve, of which John Crowley, Esq., received 7. B. M. Beckwith, Esq., \9. The chairman, on motion of Mr. Phinney, appointed Messrs. Lapham and Sawyer a com- mittee to apprise John Crowley, Esq., of his tied ion as clerk o£ the Board.
