Clair Meachum has secured ex hibition rights for the moving pic ture drama, “The Battle Cry of Peace,” for some time in tebruary. This is without doubt the biggest thing in the movie line that has ever been booked for Livonia. It is now in Rochester. Fay Clemons,manager of the East ern elevator company at Marshall, Oklahoma, has sent calendars to some of his friends here and at Conesus. The calendar shows the company’s feed lots and a bunch ot 1700-pound cattle recently sold at 9 cents, the record car-lot price for the market. Fay is in the fore ground, and most of the cattle have their eyes on him. In order to stimulate interest in public speaking in the secondary schools of New York State, a public contest will be held in Earl hall, Columbia university, on the even ing of Friday, March 3. The con test will be open to accredited repre sentatives of public and private secondary schools outside of New York city. The prizes will be S50, S35 and $15 respectively, and each contestant will receive a commem orative medal. Additional informa tion may be had of R. R. B. Powell, 203 Sherwood avenue, Rochester. A Coe family reunion was held at II.S.Coe’s Now Years day, which not only brought together forty of the relatives but resulted in the form ation of a permanent organization, which will have its yearly reunions hereafter. After the dinner Satur day a business session was held, at which Scott L. McNinch presided, and an organization was perfected by the election of L. E. Coe presi dent, S. E. Hitchcock first and H. S. Coe second vice-president, and Mrs. Mary G. Sharp secretary and treas urer. The afrair Saturday is said to have been a most enjoyable and profitable one. A committee was . appointed to select a date and a place for the next reunion. During the week the college en deavors to condense into practical form all of the information which it has on better farming and the man agement of the farm home. There will be lectures, exhibits and practi cal demonstrations on various farm subjects, such as potato-growing, poultry raising, dairying, forestry, home-making, farm management, insect control, vegetable gardening and flower growing. Rural schools, churches and community organiza tions will also comc in for a largo share of attention. If you need glasses, gel (hem; if the glasses you now wear arc not right have them refitted. And keep watch of the children. Many children could be as sured of goQd eyesight in later years by wearing glasses for a short time. And there are others who need them now and will always need them. Let us examine your eyes.
