THE PORT JERVIS DAILY OTION, THURSDAY EVENING, JUNE 2§. 1888. A W lttl MUKDEREft HANGED. Geovjje W ilson Meets H is Doom at Al bion On W ednesday. George Wilson was hanged in the Al bion, Orleans county, jail Wednesday morning at 10 10 for the murder of his wife on the night of January 17ch, last On the morning of the 18th, Wilson went to a neighbor’s and said his wife was dying, and asked that the neighbor go to his house and remain there while he weni for a doctor. The neighbor did so, and found the woman dead, and having the appearance of having been dead for some hours. Wilson so m returned, and then an undertaker was summoned, who called a coroner. There were no marks o f vio lence on the body, but the lips had the appearance o f having been bitten. A jury was impanelled, and no evidence was taken that day. A pist mortem was held and the husband was arrested and lodged in jail. The testimony before the jury showed that the woman had been strang led, and the jury found that her husband had committed the crime. Laura Thomp son, a pretty girl 18 years of age, with whom Wilson had been associating, was somewhat mixed up in the case. The murdered woman was 33 years of age. Wilson was placed on trial, and after a long and stubborn fight made by his coun- cil, was found guilty and sentenced to be hanged, A W o m a n ’s ItaT e K erve. 1 Albuquerque, New Mexico, has among it Inhabitants a woman of rare nerve.
