NEWSSTANDS 30* Formerly The Pulaski Democrat Volume 4, Number 1 Pulaski's Hometown paper Since 1859 Formerly The Sandy Creek News April 4,1988 Clark Wins Pageant Pulaski resident Sandra Clark was crowned Miss Oswego County 1988 at the pageant, held March 26 at the Lura Sharp Elementary School. The event, a preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, had 10 talented contestants competing for the crown. Each was judged on interview, swim suit competition, evening gown and talent. Miss New York State 1985, Jill Privateer, was emcee for the event, along with Randy Wenner of WTVH-TV. Also on hand were Miss Oswego County 1987 Angela Kimball, and Miss Greater Syracuse Karen Nagy. Judges were: Marsha Coppola, Jay Mills, Pamela A. Lane, Kathleen Piccifillo, Ted Cawley, and alternate George Adams. Auditors were: Nancy Williams, Jeff Stone: CPA, Paul Schneible. Judges co-chairmen were Jane Harter and Ted Polczak. The contestants were: Arline Pickens, Mexico; Jennifer McDermott, Mexico; Teresa Thomas, Cleveland; Angela Chesare, Oswego; Sandra Clark, Pulaski; Lisa Sariano, Oswego; Pam Revette, Central Square; Virginia Taylor, Oswego; Debbie Trust, Pulaski; and Heidi Hinckley, Mexico. Each competed for $2500 in scholarship funds and trophies, jewelry and much more. Clark is a senior at Pulaski High School. First runner-up was Teresa Thomas of Cleveland and Heidi Hinckley of Mexico was second. SANDRACLARK, M2*t Oswego County IMS RHONDA SUE OLIN has begun creating spring hairstyles from her booth at the Pulaski Family Hairstylist, Lake Street, Pulaski. She is shown working on customer Shelley Potter. Grafters Needed For Fun Days i With robins and geese on the way back, the next thing to think about is the 12th Annual Spring Craft and Fun Days, May 28,29 and 30. The event, sponsored by the Sandy Creek Grange to benefit the Oswego County Sandy Creek Fair Association, is held on the fairgrounds at Sandy Creek. Admission is free. Plans are now underway for the three day affair. A new event this year is a two day horse show. Because of last year's success, show chairperson Linda Armstrong has extended the program to include Saturday and Sunday. Contact her at RD 6, Box 223, Fulton. Frank Sisho and company will play on Monday, there will be music all three days. Everyday the Pomona Grange will serve chicken, and a variety of other foods.
