ams Monday, March 28,1988 — Banner Times — Page W mm Topic of Meeting Part-time programs of Sy- racuse University will be the topic of an Information Night to be held Thursday, March 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Watertown Ramada Inn (Route 81, Exit 45). SU representatives will answer questions about In- dependent Study Degree Pro- grams (ISDP) as well as class- es scheduled in the Water- town Area in the fields of adult education, nursing and social work. Information will also be available on part- - time study at the undergrad- uate and graduate level in Syracuse for commuters as well as business and profes- sional training seminars, certificate programs, con- tinuing engineering educa- tion video courses and tele- conferences. The ISCP programs in- volve a one^week residence on campus each semester or two weeks in the summer. They include the B.S. and M.B.A. in management, the B.A. in liberal studies, and master's degrees in social science and fine arts (ad- vertising design or illustra- tion). A.B.S. in food systems management through ISDP is pending State Education Department approval. Mexico Messages Town Historian Euloda Fetcha has announced that the Mexico Museum has resumed its regular hours on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 4, and Friday nights between 7 and 9. Group visits can be arranged by calling 963-7882. All Mexico residents are invited to attend the monthly meetings, which are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month, and always feature an interesting guest with a program adding to our knowledge of the interesting history of Mexico. Recent Mexico births include a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. James Breckenridge of 5324 S. Jefferson St.. on March 1 and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Scott Barkley of the Kimberly Apts. on March 2. Mrs. Viola Spencer is still a patient in Crouse-Irving Hospital, Syracuse. The MACS high school band trip to Myrtle Beach. S.C., in 1989, has now been rescinded, due to the resignation of band director Patrick Patterson. Patterson has accepted a - similar position in the Pulaski School System. When a replacement is hired, the subject will again be discussed and a decision reached. Students named to the President's List forthe 1987 fall term include, from Mexico: Traci Bisaillon of Main Street, a psychology major and Mary Bogart of RD 1. English literature major. Congratulations. Again the MACS Drama Club provided three evenings of weU-received entertainment, March 17-19. The musical, \Leave It To Jane'*, was under the supervision of William Conghlin, with musical direction by Carl Thompson and Patrick Patterson. All of the actors were outstanding and only complimen- tary remarks were heard from the audience. New Haven residents have a park committee now making plans for a playground and community park at the New Haven elementary schooL This is a cooperative plan which will fill a need both for the students and the adult residents. Mr. Al Zeller showed the MACS Board of Education detailed sketches he had made, which principal, Ann Pia, also believes would be ideal. They plan to do some fund-raising, and expect labor to be done by volunteers. Oswego County school board members and super- intendents met Wednesday evening, March 23, at Memories Restaurant in Pulaski for the annual Legisla- tive Forum. The New York State School Board Association sponsors the forums in various locations to keep members informed on legislative issues affecting public education. '' The valedictorian for the 1 Class of 1988 of Mexico Academy and Central High School is Nicole D. Papai. Salutatorian is Cathleen Cauley. The other top ten 1988 seniors are Verna Aldrich, Susan Aldrich. Robert DeLong, Amy Evale, Kathryn Hiler, Paul McPherson, Theodore Powers arid Hope Tracy. School is out Thursday for Easter recess.
