Approves Zone Change At a special meeting of the Pulaski village Board, September 24, a zoning change request was unanimously approved. Daryl K. Johnson had requested the change, from a R2 to a B2, on a parcel of land off the Richland Road, bordering Interstate 81. Johnston wants to build a 120 room motel and a restaurant on the site, near Deerfield Apartments. Mayor Daniel Briggs indicated that he would vote favorably on the measure on the condition that the restaurant be connected to the motel. A public hearing was held on the proposal a week earlier. In other business, the board also approved an ordinance closing North and South parks, to all individuals, from midnight to 6 a.m., effective immediately. \Refusal to leave the premises would result in a trespass charge,\ Briggs said. \I've been pushing for this for four year,\ said trustee Donald CrandaU. It is hoped that the move will discourage vandalism. The board also voted to appoint trustee Joseph Rupert as fire commissioner, to replace Frederick Thurston, II. Rupert was earlier voted in to finish Thurston's term as trustee.
