Marshall Minot, and Jerry Jones. Winnerrs in the Cub Scout Pack 829 Piriewood Derby were, from left to right: Jim Crowley, first-place; Matt Gdrno, third place; and Chris Gadway, Best Show Car. Second-place winner Richard Webb was unavailable for photo. The Cub Scouts of Pack 829 held their annual Pinewood Derby at the Pulaski American Legion Post, February 7. Forty-five eager cub scouts weighed in their homemade cars at 9 a.m. and com- petition began at 9:30. The cubs raced their cars against each other three times until the winners were decided with a final run of three cars. The first place trophy went to Jim Crowley, second place An award was also given to Chris Gadway for best show car. The cubs would like to thank the impartial judgement given by the judges Mark Trumble and Jerry Jones. Also, thank you to Bipp Popp for helping with the starting line. Thank-you to Sergeant Marshall Minot of NYS Police in Pulaski for helping with the judging of best show car. The organizers of this years derby would like to thank all the parents and boys who participated in the race, the Banner Times and Salmon River News for their coverage and the Pulaski American Legion for the use of their building. Trophies were given out at the Blue and Gold Banquet February 27. A few of the entries in the Pinewood Derby. Maude's Memo Redfield Village Louie and Martha Harvey had a fun day on Valentine's Day. They held a winter cook-out with 51 guests present. They went snowmo- biling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ate. The sub-zero temperature didn't keep all of them inside watching the SU basketball game on TV. Gregg and Amy Harvey returned home to Brookdale that evening to find frozen pipes, drains and toilet. Gregg was still trying to get things thawed out on that next Wednesday. They are planning another weekend in Redfield on March 14. The Rev. Bob Thomas is recuperating nicely after having surgery on February 9. Larry Grant was taken out for his birthday by his wife and family on February 20. Pete Grant will be staying at his parent's home while they go for a vacation to the South. The Redfield Rescue was called to the High Braes for a sliding accident on February 21. The patient was taken by NOCA. She was released with minor injuries.
