Page-2-Banner Times Monday, May 26, 1986 Oswego County Trappers Association DAR Junior American Citizens Contest President Richard Chairvolitti called the May meeting to order with 28 members present. Bob Bolster gave an update report on Constantia Fish Hatchery. A report from the State trappers Association was given on the Anti's movement to stop trapping. A repot on our pledges was given to help fight the effort. Ken Leary brought in a very nice letter from Ken Balling, former 4- H representative. Letters of thanks were received Tom President of New York State Trappers Association and also Wildlife Legislative Fund of American. Tentative date for trappers picnic set for July 20. Set the day aside to come and bring the family. Tom Gregg gave Federation report and took our vote on a fish egg request they asked for. Ken Henderson showed some pictures of Old Forge Fur Auction. Trap winners this month were R.L. Bolster, Whittaker, K. Henderson, R.O. Bolster, R. Manchester, J. Valance, T. Chairvolitti, and C. White. Springbrook District By AA.E. Pratt Mr. and Mrs. Donald Woodward attended the first Little League baseball game on Mother's Day. Their son Donnie plays in the League this season. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Young from Syracuse, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pratt and children Stacia and Adam, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Pratt and son, Joshua of Fairport and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Prat; had dinner Mother's Day a; Candlelight Inn at Parish. They were all here at our apartment sometime during the day. Wayne and 1 went with son Jim's folks to son Doug's home where the children could play ball, while we oldsters visited. Wayne and I went to Fairport last Thursday where we visited till Monday morning. Michael Pratt is being transferred to Germany in October. Our grandson, Michael Pratt, drove his truck through from Cheyenne, Wyoming arriving Thursday evening. Friday morning Mike drove us Pratts to grandparents day at Rochester Harley Private School where Joshua attends school. We were entertained by the students' iu the auditorium, then went to the classrooms to do things with students, and then had lunch in the field house. A real rewarding day for students and grandparents. Jim and family took all of us to the faculty club at the University of Rochester for dinner. Saturday evening Mike's mother joined us, very nice evening. Mike left Sunday morning for Maine. He sold his truck to his father-in-law. We called on Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Matesson in Fulton on the way home Monday had lunch with them and such a good visit. Lyman and Helen Metesson of Cato weren't home. Maple Corners By Helen Wansink Nicolas Lee of Sandy Creek, has been spending a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Dollinger, while his parents are vacationing in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. James Glenister and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Glenister were having a cookout at Washington Park on Sunday. When it started raining, they went to Jim's in Sandy Creek and spent ihc p.m. Mrs. Louise Dunton returned home Tuesday after spending a few weeks with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Langer and boys, in Gastonia, North Carolina. James Iannuzzo III received the good citizenship award from Pulaski School's 5th grade. Mrs. James Iannuzzo attended a wedding shower for her niece Sunday in Syracuse. Winners in the DAR Junior American citizens Contest as announced May 2, are: RoyAyotte [APW\, Greg Soderlund [Pulaski], both first place Shonna Sargent [APW\, AmyKranz [Pulaski], both second place. The poster contest theme was \Our Country's Holidays and Traditions.\ Absent were: first place -winner Bobbie Gareau and Romy Genant, third. Taking honorable mention in the contest were, front row.Cathy Cook, Lori Lynn Henderson, Sonja Thayer, [all from APW.] Back row: Connie Hutchingson, Krysta Kranz, John Scott [all of Pulaski], Jennifer Marie Hall, APW. Absent from picture were: Crystal Webb, Chris Courtwright, Jeremy Richardson, Jason Walter. Students Decorate Eggs Awarded Degrees The sixth grade class at APW Middle School recently took part in an Easter Egg Decorating contest. Mrs. Sheldon and Mrs. Ketchum allowed the students time to work on the eggs in class and supervised the \creative mess\ in their rooms. Mrs. Sottung supplied some supplies from the Art department such as yarn, paper etc. The students brought in their own hard boiled eggs and craft supplies. One hundred and fifteen eggs were completed and displayed in the trophy case. The finished eggs were all very different, creative and colorful. It was very difficult to judge the eggs because there were so many fantastic ones! Thirty different people judged the eggs. The judges were from the adrriinistration, faculty, student body and even some adults that were roaming the halls the day of judging. Over half the eggs got at least one vote! The winners were: First, \A Wedding Party\ by Maureen VanTassel; Second, \Drivin' Ivan\ by Jeremy Gross; Third, \Megan\ by Debbie Petrie, Fourth, \A Reindeer\ by Chris Burke; Fifth, \A Cheerleader\ by Lisa Juskow; Sixth, \A Clown\ by Jennifer Stander; Seventh, \The Bride\ by Kris Houghton; Eighth, \An Elephant\ by Jay Young. The prizes awarded were a choice of a solid chocolate Easter Rabbit or an APW T-shirt. Saint Joseph's College here awarded 124 baccalaureate degrees to the Class of 1986 May 4 during the school's 91st annual com- mencenient exercises. Degree recipients from this area include: Raymond H. Trumble, B.S., physical education, Lacona, and Ralph E. Loura, B.S., mathematics-computer science, summa cum laude, Lacona, N.Y. Correction There are two corrections for the third quarter honor roll of Pulaski High School. Michael Obleman appeared on the Merit Roll and should be on the Honor Roll. Katherine Wilk was omitted from the Merit Roll, grade nine.
