Boylston News By Billie Snyder Monday, May 19, 1986 Banner Times-Page-9 IT NEVER FAILS The men for Missions, a division of OMS, held .1 informational meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rudd. The Eastern area representative Max Edwards of Indiana and two area chapter Presidents Dave Phillips of Perry, N.Y. and Gary Mutchler of Moravia, N.Y. gave information jn starting a local chapter. The chapter meets once a month to pray for missions and their needs, raise funds for the purpose of sending a local person to help for a short term in the missions field. This would include builders, teachers, cooks for the workers and anyone who could help the missionaires in their work. Those tmat attended the meeting were The Rev. Chester Osgood, the Rev. David Rudd, Perry Fergueson, Rob Martin, Brian Snyder and Jim Jackson. Anyone interested in starting a local chapter should call 387-3225 or 387-5213. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rudd at- tended the graduation of their son, Jonathan who received his BS Degree in General Science Magne Cum Laude at Houghton College May 11. Miss Janet Marshall of Vorea accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Rudd to the graduation. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Grey of Bay City, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Macri of Clay, Karen and Alison Shirley of Richland and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Shirley and children Peter and Elisabeth were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Shirley. Mrs. Barbara Knight and daughter Heather of Watertown and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Barney and son Allen of Adams Center visited their mother Mrs. Mary Snyder and family Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Tamblin were honored at a 60th wedding anniversary party given by their family at the American Legion Hall in Adarns May 4, around 125 friends and relatives attended. The Boylston Wesleyan Church held their Spring dinner at the church May 8. A former pastor the Rev. Peter Bush was the guest speaker. 37 attended the dinner. 15 walkers walked in the CROP walk Saturday. After the walk the youth gathered at the parsonage for a hot dog roast. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ammerman and Mrs. Julia Allen of Glens Falls spent Mother's Day weekend with iheir parents the Rev. and Mrs. Gilbert Clemons and son David. A belated Happy Birthday to Melanie Potter who was 18 years old Monday, May 12. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Phelps of Syracuse and Mrs. Elaine Boney and David Johnson of Gouverneur visited Mr. and Mrs. Emery Tamblin Friday. Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson spoke at the Union hurch in Pierrepont Manor Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have been missionaries in Bolivia and are now reassigned to go to Argentina. Rev. and Mrs. Donald Hulbert and daughters Rebecca and Bonnie Sue, niece Tammy and their son and daughter in law Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Hulbert and children of Troupsburg and Mrs. Alta Nemier were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Rob Martin and family of Vorea. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Sullivan visited their daughter Mrs. Maria Flynn in Palermo Saturday. Mrs. Mary Snyder and Mrs. Lenora Gustavason visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Murray in Ellisburg Sunday night. . Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Shirley were Sunday dinner guests of Karen and Alison Shirley in Richland. Mrs. Debbie Martin was a Monday luncheon guest of Mrs. Alta Nemier. Mrs. Olive Wilmot of Richland is spending a few days with her mother Mrs. Bessie Rudd. The Rev. Wesley Hunting of Pierrepont Manor called on Mrs. Bessie Rudd and family Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Franchot of Williamson and Mrs. Kenneth Riordan of Watertown visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Emery Tamblin Mother's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rudd were in Gowanda, East Aurora, Brockport and Webster on business Monday. Melanie Potter went with other seniors from the Sandy Creek High School on their senior trip to New York City over Mother's Day weekend. Mr. and Ivlrs. Chester Rudd of Westwood, N.Y. visited his mother, Mrs. Rose Rudd Satur- day. Pulaski Lodge Masonic News The next Communication Pulaski Masonic Lodge 7415 F. & A.M. be on Wednesday evening, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. The master, Fred Dashnaw will bring his report of Grand Lodge, including with the highlights of the Grand Master's dinner with the honored guests Brother James Doolittle, a four- star General (retired) and Brother Rev. Norman Vincent Peale. All members are urged to make a special effort to attend. There is two weeks left to sign up for our summer camp at Round Lake, near Old Forge in the Adirondack Mountains. Pulaski Lodge would like to sponsor another youth for camp for one or two weeks. There will be two, two, two-weeks sessions for girls. A youth must be the son or daughter of a Mason or the granddaughter or grandson of a Mason. All Brothers mark your calendar for this one. On June 4 we will honor R.'W.'C. Richard Trust, with a covered dish dinner at 6:30 p.m. at our Masonic Temple. This in honor of Brother Trusts most successful year as District Deputy for our district. We are planning a special program of musical and a couple of speakers. Ladies are also invited. Rolls, meat and beverage will be furnished. Installation Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358, will hold in- stallation of officers, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. The installation will take place at the American Legion Hall, Richland Road. Newly-elected Commander Pat Lance invites members and guests to join in by attending the installation ceremony. Parsons Lawrence H. Virginia is the new caretaker at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Village of Sandy Creek. John Camann was recently elected President of the Board of Trustees of Union Cemetery Association which administers Woodlawn as a not-for-profit cemetery. Mr. Camann takes office following the resignation of Lynn V. Blount from that capacity. Mr. Blount remains a me nber of the Board, a jobJie has fi'ied since 1970. Trie Sa r .dy Creek Regional Planning Board meets Tuesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall. This is their regular meeting night. The agenda will include election of a new Chairman and review of the final draft for a Local Development Handbook which Board members have been working on for several months. The Local History Committee of the Friends of Ainsworth Library Limit Changed organization will meet tomorrow morning, Tuesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. in the Local History Room on the lower level of the Town Hall. This will be a planning meeting, for individual work assignments and to set priorities for the proper care of the local history archives. Anyone interested in the history of our area is welcome to attend. Don't forget the SCCS Kin- dergarten Circus which is set for Thursday evening, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the High School Gym. The Elementary Student Council at SCCS has announced that their lollipop sale i I April raised a total of $684.59 for the American Cancer Society in the annual \Lick Cancer\ Campaign. A Book Fair is scheduled in the Elementary Library at SCCS on Friday, June 6, 9-3; Saturday, June 7, 10 to noon;; and Monday, June 9, 9 to 2:30. Memorial Day Roast Beef Dinner To Be Served There will be a Memorial Day Roast Beef dinner held on Monday, May 21 at the Altmar Riverside United Methodist Church at 12:30. The menu conists of roast beef, mashed potatoes, harvard beets, cabbage salad and homemade pie. Everyone welcome. Board To Meet the next regular Board of Education Meeting of the Altmar- Parish-Williamstown Central School District will be Thursday, May 22, at 7:30 v.m. in the Library of the Middle-Senior High School building. Fellsmere, Florida by Gladys Ballard The 40 mile-an-hour speed limit on Rome Street or Route 13 east, out of Pulaski, has been extended about six-tenths of a mile, past Whitacker's Sports Store. The new signs were put up last week. Florence Stowell is home aeain after a number of days in Sebastion River Medical Center for treatment of a back problem and bronchial throat trouble. Mary Ballard and Cheryl Wilkinson were in Melbowrne Sunday shopping. Evelyn Pike has been suffering with bronchitis for a few days. She visited her doctor in Vero Beach. We have extremely dry weather here. Everything is drying up. and water has been restricted in many places . There.has been many brush fires everywhere. One was quite near us Sunday when several acres burned over. Roseland, Vero Lake Estates and Palm Bay fire com- panies came to help Fellsmere out. It burned over 150 acres. The first launch of a Delta Rocket took place Saturday night at the Cape, but like the shuttle, it ex- ploded in mid-air shortly after take off. Is the Lord trying to tell them something? Another day and no rain in sight. After about 2 months of no rain. Very hot and humid. To Meet Sandy Creek-Orwell Area Senior Citizens Organization will meet at the Orwell Town Hall for a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. Friday, May 23. Please bring a covered dish to share, your own table service, and beverage will be furnished. Following the supper and a business meeting, steal bingo will be played. Please bring a small gift for prizes for the bingo game. All Senior Citizens, 55 years of age and older are invited and will be warmly welcomed.
