Back row: Betsy Wadsworth, Angel Trumble, Susan Stevens, Ann Marie Burda. Not pictured are: Leaders Bev Montgomery and Connie Young. Sandy Creek Junior Troop #83 recently took an adventurous trip to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. They spent the night on a 1945 decomksioned Navy cruiser at the Naval and Servicemen's Park in Buffalo. They were free to explore the vessel and park after a tasty dinner on board in the crew's mess deck. A Naval officer explained terms like \water tight integrity 5 *, \forecastle\, and \scullery\, as well as answered the girls' questions. The following day, the troop visited both sides of Niagara Falls including a ride up and down an incline and at least a three-mile hike from one side of the falls to the other and back. The falls were as beautiful as ever. Huge ice floes had collected at the base, em- phazising the power of the mighty Niagara River. Though tired by the trip's end, all the girls agreed they had learned a lot and they'd had a lot of fun as well.
