Henik of Staten Island, N.Y., is serving as President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New York, for the year 1985-86. Stie is a member of Dombrowski Unit #965, American Legion Auxiliary, in Kings County, where her father was a W.W.I veteran and a charter member of the post. •'' Mrs. Henik has served on the Education and Legislation Committees and'for three years was Department Vice President, the last two years on the Mem- bership Committee. Mrs. Henik has a son and daughter and is an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Oswego County American Legion and its Auxiliary will be entertaining Mrs. Henik and State Commander George Clow, at a dinner and program in the Monaghan Post Home, Oswego, on Monday, September 23 at 7 p.m. Oswego County Results Howafdville Happenings by Mrs. Donald Wiltse United Methodist &$&• She said, \May God be as Dugway Church services are at 9:15 a.m., Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. The annual Harvest Supper and Sale will be held at the Dugway Church . House on Saturday evening, October 5, starting at 5 p.m. Menu includes ham, escalloped potatoes, squash, cabbage salad, brown bread, rolls, baked beans, pickles, pie, coffee, tea and kool-aid. Price is $4 for adults, $1.50 for children five to 12; under 5 free. There will also be baked goods and produce for sale. The public is invited. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nash took their children to the Catslrill Game Farm last Thursday, stayed overnight in the area and came home Friday. Mrs. Betty Powers of Homer has been spending a few days with her niece and family, Mrs. Herman Nash. Mrs. Rex Rowe took six of the MYF to the State Fair. The MYF has been painting the church floor and also bought the paint out of their funds, with Mrs. Rowe supplying one gallon. The MYF alio recently donated a lovely tapestry of the Last Supper to the Church. We thank them and Diane for everything. Labor Day, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nash and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald\ Richards and family had a picnic at Whetstone State Park near Lowville. Mrs. George Priest celebrated her birthday on Tuesday. She received a phone call from her daughter, Mrs. Darwin Cote of Tennessee as well as a card and gift. All the rest of her children came for her birth- day. This included Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Priest, Mr, and Mrs. James Priest, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Priest, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Trumbte. Randy Bennett and friend Tim also came, as well as other grandchildren and some great-grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch. Mrs. Priest wishes to thank each and everyone of her family as well as friends and neighbors who had such wonderful thoughts to think of her in any way. She received a plant, roses, glads; a basket of flowers and many other lovely good to them as they have been to me.\ Michele Richards had a family birthday party Wednesday which was her tenth birthday and on Friday night, guests for her bir- thday were Michelle and Jason Nash, Carrie and Jamie Dunn, TinaHier and Lisa Priest. Donald Wiltse had dinnfer at Perkins on Friday night and then attended a birthday party for Michael Patrick LaPoint's sixth birthday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike LaPoint at North Syracuse. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest LaPoint and Mr. Bob LaPoint of Central Square, Mr. and Mrs. John LaPoint of Baldwinsvilk and Chris LaPoint of Liverpool. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Richards and family attended a birthday party on Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nash for Benjamin Nash's second birthday. Benjamin's grand- mother, Mrs. Naomi Duegaw of Pulaski, was also present. Leon Carapetyan, director for performances-of the Bach-Handel- Scarlatti Tercentenary Society. Announce Presentation The Bach-Handel-Scarlatti Tercentenary Society and the Oswego County Council on the Arts announce the opening presentation of a trio of concerts marking the 300th year of each of these composers. The first program is chamber music, presented by faculty artists of the music department at the State University of New York College at Oswego on Sunday, September 22 at 3 p.m. in Waterman Theatre of Tyler Hall. One of the featured performers is Diane L. Massie, flutist, who is currently on the faculties of SUNY Oswego and Colgate University. She will perform George Frideric Handel's Sonata for Flute and continuo, Opus 1, #5, in G major and will be accompanied by David Sabin. Ms. Massie will also combine with the Sheldon Trio, in residence at Oswego, in the Ricercar I from Joharm Sebastian Bach's Musical Offering. Other works slated for this program include sections from the Bach Art of F Fugue, a Handel Sonata for two violins and con- tinuo and a Scarlatti keyboard sonata. This series of celebration concerts will continue on October 27 with a Bach Cantata Concert with the Oswego Brass Quintet at the Presbyterian Church on West Fifth Street in Oswego. This concert will feature area singers in the Bach Choir and a Baroque chamber orchestra performing Cantata #38 and #79. The culminating concert will be held at the Oswego High School Center for the Performing Arts, and will mass several area choirs with the Oswego Festival Chorus, directed by Leon Carapetyan and the Onondaga Civic Symphony Orchestra in Handel's The Messiah on November 24. Tickets for individual concerts will be available at the door and series tickets for all three concerts can be purchased at a reduced cost by calling the Oswego County Council on the Arts at 342-1624 or at the Waterfront.
