The first graduating class was 1933 with the last being 1942. There were 55 graduates and 41 are still living. There were 14 graduates present and eight guests, making a total of 22 present. Anyone attending the Redfield School from 1933 to 1942 from first to twelfth grade is invited to attend. So, everyone, keep this date open as we hope to spread the word. It will be hard to contact each person in- dividually. Each graduate will let his family know if others attended the school. A copy of yearbooks, newsclippings, class wills', etc. -will be-displayed to look at. - The Grant girls did a lovely job getting pictures copied and had a lovely display of each graduating class. Adduci has announced new laws, effective September 1, 1985, which affect New York State motorists and snowmobile owners. Proration of Registration Fees Under a. new system for calculating registration fees, people who register new cars will ' 'get what they pay for.\ \The new law, recently signed by Governor Mario M. Cuomo, provides for calculating fees for original registrations on a daily, rather than monthly, basis,\ Commissioner Adduci noted. \Thus motorists will receive exactly the number of registration days they pay for.\ Before the new law, a registration issued any time in August, for example, would expire on the last day of July in the following year, meaning that the motorist received less than a full year's registration for a 12-month fee. Beginning September 1, registrations accompanied by new plates will expire at the end of the month in which they are issued, and the motorist will pay a registration fee prorated for the exact number of days the vehicle will be registered. \This is a much fairer system,\ Commissioner Adduci stated. \No matter when during the month you register your new car, you now get exactly what you pay for.\ The new system will also affect registration fees paid when a person transfers license plates and registration to a new vehicle that weighs more than the old one. In this case, the registrant will pay a prorated fee based on the weight difference and the number of days left before the registration expires. The new system does not currently affect the fee you pay to renew your registration and all registration fees will still be rounded to the nearest 25 cents. Accident Reports A driver involved in an accident in which any one party suffers property damage amounting to to. .the. JDfipirtment. Motor Vehicles within ten days. For accidents occuring before September 1, 1985, the required reporting level remains $400 in property damage. \Drivers are reminded that their licenses can be suspended if they do not file required accident reports with the Department of Motor Vehicles.\ Commissioner Adduci cautioned. \Filing a report with your insurance company, employer or police does not meet your legal obligation.'' Snowmobile Fee Snowmobile owners who register their snowmobiles or renew registrations on or after September 1, 1985, will pay a $5 \trial maintenance fee\ in addition to the annual $5 registration fee. The trail maintenance fee will go to a snowmobile trail maintenance fund administered by the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Snowmobiles must be registered at Motor Vehicle offices. ol Seaman's District Mrs. Lloyd Davey Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Tifft and Mrs. Ward Yourdon and daughter, Jessica, of Binghamton called on Mrs. Raymond Ackley.
