A •P* Sandy Pond Chatter by AA. Crandall Monday, August 5, 1985 Banner Times-Page-11 IT NEVER FAILS Ever have a lost weekend? I just had a lost week! I spent most of it under a blanket trying to keep warm! Tuesday's visit to NOCHSI told me I had cellulitis of the right foot. After a week on antibiotics, I'm beginning to feel there is hope yet! Maybe, because I have a little curly-haired visitor for a few days, My grandson's puppy Muttley Jo is staying with me for a, few days until they get back from Santa's workshop, and Frontier Land. You can't be sick with him around! I heard two Sandy Pond Mosquitoes talking about \taking him home to eat\ so I brought him into the house for the first night. He checked on me and washed my face 30 times during the night! I really enjoyed him - \We all did!\ Mr. and Mrs. James Archer, Josie Hedger, Catherine Widrig, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Meister had dinner Sunday at Buffalo Head Restaurant in Forestport. Harry Meister, of Copenhagen and his son, Gerald from Hinsdale, N.H», were dinner guests of the Ernie Meisters. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Jones and Thelma and Ernie Meister had dinner at Frick *N Frack's and then called on Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Borland. Bill and Lynn Mitchell and the Meisters have had several evening of card playing. A business call found the Meisters in Watertewn and the next day they were in Syracuse for Ernie's doctor appointment. They called on Jennie Smith and Gordon Carr while there. Edgar Moxam Sr., 74, died on July-17 after a ten-day stay at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Ed and his wife, Dorothy, have lived at South Pond for eighteen years. The reception was held at the Legion Hall at Benson's Mines. They stayed all night at Percy's sister's, Mrs. Ralph Beaulieu and family at Wankena. On Sunday, they visited Mrs. Charles Lawrence at Star Lake and Mr. and Mrs. David Maxwell who were there from Florida; and Mrs. Joan Maxwell of Harrisville. Once home, they received a call from Don and Julie from Oregon and talked with Ralph and Madaline who will stay with Don until^ Tuesday; -X'Jtno'w Leon and I attended the 8 a.m. Sunday service at Sandy Creek Methodist Church and loved it! It gave us the rest of the day to do as we wanted. We-and Sue called on Lee, Judy and Jamie and David in Oswego and then we went to the Wine Creek Inn Brunch. Then we bought a washing machine and called on Joyce, Peter, Katie and Alex. Sue got to stay and take care of Katie and Alex while their folks went to a Christmas Party in July., on Saturday. Later, Leon and I called on Jim and Shelia Clark at their new camp at Seber Shores. Sue and BUI Smith, Mike and Linda Schryver, Don and Janet Pierce cal enjoyed dinner at Rainbow Shores Hotel. Monday night, Sue joined the Big M gang at Bill's house to work on the float for the Pulaski Parade and then she and Bill joined us at Rainbow Shores to watch the fireworks at FitzPatrick's plant at Nine Mile. Everyone else had the same idea! Although it was hazy, the breeze - was great, and the fellowship of good friends, who we met there was worth giving the mosquitoes a bloody drink.
