The Pulaski Wesley an Church has announced that Vacation Bible School will add to the summer's wholesome activities from August 12 to August 16 at the church, on the corner of Route 11 and Old Mexico Road. The time for this weekday event is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Director Anne Gibbs reports that \this year's theme is 'Learning from Bible Heroes'.\ The daily schedule provides~fun times of crafts and recreation, as well as learning experiences with the Bible. According to Anne, the goal of this summer's VBS is to help children from preschool age through young teens develop the spiritual dimension of their lives. This will be accomplished through a study of Bible heroes from the Old Testament. Chase Mark L. Chase, 33, Orwell resident and graduate of Sandy Creek Central School died Thursday, July 18, 1985 from injuries sustained in a one-car accident which occurred early that morning oh County Route 22 in the Town of Sandy Creek, near a north branch of Trout Brook! Troopers said it appeared that Chase had been driving his 1985 vehicle south on Route 22 when he went off the left side of the road and struck guard rails. The vehicle then rolled down the embankment, ejecting the driver, and came to a stop in trees near the creek, ac- cording to police. The accident went undetected until shortly after 6:30 p.m. when a farmer, pulling a hay wagon slowly along County Route 22, saw the wreckage, police said. Born on July 10, 1952 in Watertown, the son of Robert and Keitha Lortie Chase, he was graduated from Sandy Creek High School in!972. He was employed as a salesman for Parkview Auto Sales, Watertown, and had been active as a musician in area entertainment spots, having organized his own band. He is survived by a son, Matthew Chase, 14, Pulaski; his mother, Mrs. Keitha Harvey, Sandy Creek: two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Darlean) Reed and Mrs. James (Gena) Bray, both of Lacona; an aunt, an uncle, a niece, a nephew and several cousins., Funeral services were held July 21 at the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church with pastor Rev. F. Michael Decker, officiating* Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Arrangements by Summerville Funeral Home. Donald L. Cornell Donald L. Cornell, 58, of 7676 North Street, Pulaski, was pronounced dead on arrival at Oswego Hospital Thursday, July 18,1985. \Born Feb. 8, 1927 in Scranton, Pa., he later moved with his family to Stamford. He graduated from Stamford Central School in 1944 and was married to Doris I. Hayner in 1946. - - — r ^ Cornell served in the U.S. Army in World War II and later in the Korean War. He was employed at Agway Inc. for 35 years. Residing in Pulaski for the past 30 years, he was a member of Park United Methodist Church, the Pulaski Ringgold Fare Company, and the Pulaski Grange. He also was a member and dispatcher for Northern \ Oswego County Ambulance, one of the founding members of the Pulaski Library Board, and an active members of the Pulaski Little League and Minor League. He .was also a member of the Pulaski Service Dub and was active in the Pulaski Men's Bowling and Golf Leagues. Surviving are his wife, Doris; one son, Thomas R. Cornell of Pulaski; two daughters; Mrs. Pamela. L. Graham of Pulaski and Mrs, Lynn C. Forbes of Albany; one sister, Viegjnia Drebetko of North 4 Blenheim; - six T >.grand- cbildren;; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at- 3 p.m. Saturday at he Foster-Hax Funeral Home,, Pulaski, with the Rev. Joanne Cox-Smith, of- ficiating. Burial was in. Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours were Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Oswego County Chapter of the American Heart Association or Northern Oswego County Ambulance.
