We were an hour latd as we drove through heavy rainstorm and miles of one-way coUstrUetidn, but we were all happy! We left Pulaski Friday at 5:30 a.m., picked up more people at Central Square and North Syracuse and then we were off. Riding with us was Allen Reid was tQ meet his brother, .who plays with John Anderson). Also, Mitchell (Micki) Race. Micki, also hashis own band \Tri-CountyDrifters''. Our driver was George Lamb whose band is \George jGee and Horston\. His wi% Claire, sat behind him, so she could sing too over the mike. 'Atle&v and Micki brought their guitars up front and, with George and Claire, they sang most of the way down. Everyone appreciated the music, as .we^ were down in WheeUng before we had a chance to get tired. After getting into our rooms, s swimming, etc., we went to the St.\ Clairville, Ohio Valley Mall for shopping. Then, we sat around the pool' where the Lambs, Allen and Micki sang for us; We also enjoyed \sparklers^ given to us by Pulaski Big Mf Next some of our people' went to the lounge where a \live\ remote broadcast Jamboree in the HiMs special preview party J featuring Ron Retzer took place. $ Getting up at 4:45 a-hi., were 1 1 Leon, Allan and Micki and George Lamb took them to the Jamboree site to set up our tarps. We arrived after 10j aid enjoyed the per- formers, music and people. TJiey announced over 69,000 paid admission on Saturday. They thought the Charlie Daniels Band brought many of the yoiuig crowd in. It rained a little Saturday, but the show went on. It rained on Sunday and this kept the crowd smaller. However, Leon, Bill Bennett and Micki Race again left at 5 a.m. Sunday to put up our tarps and while waiting for Our bus to arrive, LeM srwtted this kid with a red hat looking him over. Leon nP^ded, yes; and soonhe and Todd Fravor were shaking hands. Fee will be. one dollar pet swimmer and where. Pulaski was. Next year, will be the tenth year and looks like it will be a \biggie , ^ Our biggest thrill, of course, was when Dickie Reid got through playing on the stage with John Anderson and came down to our site and gave us all a hug and kiss. Was it ever good to see him again! He also signed autographs for everyone. Our group made page 30. How about that?? Kurt Youker spent Thursday through Sunday with his grand* parents Hilda and Percy Maxwell. Frankie and Elwood Meister of Deer River were Sunday dinner guests of Thelma and Ernie Meister. Mrs. Lorna Cobb and Debbie of Syracuse, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Jones were Thursday night caller of the Meisters. On Saturday, Thelma and Ernie with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ellis of Liverpool were fishing in the Thousand Islands with good results. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Tiernan of Kinderhodk, Mr. and Mrs. John Fish called on the Meisters; Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Castello of Oswego and Mrs. Delores Stonable of Syracuse called Thursday night on the Meisters. Pat and Amber Ingraham, and Mrs. Ruth Sanderson of Springbrook Apartments were shopping, jn, Penn v Can Mall, Wednesday. Happy Birthday to Arlene Bachar on July 28 and to Garrett Ingraham on July 30. Chip (our dog) and the Crandalls want to thank Griff Jones for the T.L.C. shown to him while we were away. On July 27, three occasions were celebrated: Jeffery Dillabough's 12th birthday; Don Peston's birth- day and Bill and Alice Dillabough's 56th wedding an- niversary. Happy Birthday to Barbara Westerlund on July 24 from her \coffee break\ friend, M.D. Mark Moyer returned home after a four-day stay in the hhospital, but is still Under the doctor's care. Ashley Nicole Moyer, 6. month old daughter of Chris and Mark Moyer is being christened in St. Frances Church, Lacona, on Sunday. Marty and-Don Quonce will be her Godparents. The Pumphouse was broken into at Sandy Island Beach lately. Remember the $25 reward is still good for anyone reporting any destruction on the beach. Becky* Tryori, 12,. daughter of Millie Tryon is spending several weeks with Patty and: Francis Mooney and family of Man- chester. A Little Bit Of Nashville Comes To Pulaski Country recording star Mickey GUley's tout- bus stopped in Pulaski recently, fresh from a show in Ogdensburg. Sound and lighting crews visited several stores ofi Jefferson Street However, Mr. Gilley himself Was not with them. \Wetijst dropped him off at the airport/' said bus driver Christopher Doucet, who designed the layout of the bus. Doucet and Danny Wagner, a concession manager, chatted with passers-by who paused to admire their bus. Doucet said that the crew will travel to dates in Wisconsin and Michigan, on their way back to Nashville, Tennessee. Hope for Bereaved Support Group will be held July 30, at 7:30 p.m. All who have lost a loved one through death are invited to attend this meeting. Death is a painful, lonely experience.
