Hares, watches the ceremony When the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints held a ground breaking ceremony in 1983, it was only the first phase in a series of four. Now; only about two years later, they are at it again. Con- struction of phase two, a chapel, began April 29. The ground breaking ceremony for the latest construction was held April 26, at the church on Nelson Avenue. Frances E. Hares, the architect who designed both the first building and the newest addition, was present, as were many members of the church. Pulaski Branch President Robert; Breckenridge presented a brief history on the church before the first shovel of dirt was turned. The first branch in this area was organized in 1831. In fact, the fourth of the 12 presidents, Wilford Woodruff, lived'in the area\ for a short while, and was probably baptized in the Salmon River. When the church organized Day Care Legion Presented Award >emngs by Madeline Hubbard Although we have seven bir- thdays this month we will not be celebrating any this week. Last week, the children enjoyed pretzels; both the making and especially the eating of them. The picnic was a tremendous success and left us with the opinion that we should have another one before summer vacation. This week, we will be going \musical\;, various instruments' names may be learned. The children will make a Kazoo and hum their way in marches. Fast vs. slow and loud vs. soft are im- portant in music as well as iden- tifying different patterns via various dapping activities. Do you suppose your child would enjoy this social, educational and fun atmosphere with children of their own peer group? If you so desire to visit us, please feel welcome to do so. We are located in the educational wing of the Park Methodist Church using the North Street entrance. We are accepting children from seven weeks through 14 years old. Enrollments are being made for the, summer programs as well as the September,, \back to school month\. Breakfast, noon meal and p.m. snack are prepared and served on the site with no extra charge and no discriminationtoanychild. * * J „ ^rss* Pulaski Branch President Robert Breckenridge, demonstrates how easily the first shovel full of dirt is turned., here in 19?0,. there -were 106 members,\ and tfiey used the Odd ^ellows^Hall.
