h . •/i 4.’., Palmyra Democrats Choose Dick Krebbeks For Supervisor Democrats attending their Town of Palmyra caucus nominated Richard J. Krebbeks for town sup ervisor, Mrs. Marsha Lynn Ver- stringhe for twon clerk, Edward O’Connor for justice of the peace and Daniel Pope for councilman. Nominee Dick Krebbeks is a graduate of Rochester Institute of live in East Palmyra. Ed is a fore man at the Mechanical Rubber Di vision of Garlock — at the Division Street plant. The O’Connors are the parents of 10 children. Dick Krebbeks Technology’s Evening College where he majored in mechanical engineer ing- He is an engineer at Curlator Corp. in Macedon. He and his wife Mary reside at 149 Brookside Terrace, Palmyra. They are the parents of four sons. Mrs. Richard Verstringe is a graduate of Pal-Mac and Keuka College where she received a bach- Marcia Lynn Verstringhe elor of arts degree in history. She and her husband reside at 255 Cuy- ler St., Palmyra. Ed O’Connor and his wife Alice Blfel Ed O'Connor Dan Pope Daniel Pope is the compensation administrator at the R. T. French Company in Rochester. He and his wife Patricia Ann live at 406 Can andaigua St., Palmyra. They are the parents of a son and a daugh ter. Daniel is a graduate of Yale Uni versity. He took graduate work at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Conn., and the Berkeley Divinity School, New Haven, Conn. James DeBrine Jr., the Republi can nomineee for superintendent of highways, was endorsed by the Democratic Party. Opening Slated At Manchester A “Harvest Hoedown,” complete with square dance exhibitions and free refreshments, will be held this Sunday afternoon, September 26, at Friendly Village of Manchester mo- bilehome community. The community, which is located at the intersection of Routes 96 and 21 in Manchester, is a develop ment of American Mobilehome Cor poration. It officially opened Sept ember 11, with spaces for 225 fam ilies. Visitors are invited to tour the community amenities which include a heated swimming pool and out door games area, and a $200,000 clubhouse with cards and crafts areas, billiards room, color televi sion nook, party kitchen, and laun dry facilities. Fully-furnished and landscaped mobilehome models are also on display. All adult visitors are eligible to enter a drawing for a free cruise to the Bahamas. GARLOCK OLDTIMERES MEET Approximately 325 members of Garlock Inc. with 25 or morev years of service with the mechanical pack ing manufacturing company will meet at the Old World Inn Satur day night, Sept. 25, for their an nual “Oldtiraers’ Dinner Party.” The inductees inlo the veteran service group total 36 this year. Another 10 members will be feted for the completion of 35 years of service. Roy Aplin Nominated By Conservatives Roy R. Aplin, Bear Hill Drive, Palmyra, former Chairman of the Wayne County Conservative Party, has been nominated to run for the office of Supervisor of the Town of Palmyra, on the Conservative Party ballot. Aplin, a graduate of Harpur College, Binghamton, holds a Bach elor of Arts Degree. He is a form er welfare caseworker and a for mer Director of Probation of the Wayne County Probation Dept Since 1963 he has been employed in the building construction field. He is a veteran of World War II, a past Commander of the James R. Hickey Post No. 120 and is active in veteran affairs. His past activi ties in various civic and commun- Roy Aplin ity affairs in Palmyra are numer ous. Aplin has lived in Palmyra since 1952 and is a life long resident of Wayne County. He states that his campaign will be based on the “is sues which have resulted in run away taxing and spending in our town and county Governments.” Some 300 parking and rest areas, many with scenic overlooks, have been provided by the State Depart ment of Transportation along New York roads. Garlock Announces Promotion; New Advertising Manager Gene Johnson has been promot ed to Manager-sales Promotion at Garlock Inc.’s Mechanical Rubber Division, Palmyra. Reporting to him are the newly appointed Adver tising Manager, Kent Woodworth; Charles Fowler of Stationery Stores and Bill Raymer of the Print Shop. Kent Woodworth succeeds Tony Busch, resigned. ELM TREES REATTACKED Another lethal plant disease that attacks elm trees has invaded New York State for the first time this summer, a Cornell University plant disease specialist reports.
