One of the thieves was about 5-9, the other about 5-11^ said Collie, who is 5-6. A local doctor treated Collie for the arm injury. Robert Scribner, a Wayne Coun ty probation officer, was in police .headquarters from where the rear of the store is visible and saw the scuffle through a window. While the men were struggling, police received the telephone call from the customer reporting the robbery. Police Chief Donald Henry and Stirpe also were in the office. They tried to follow the fleeing auto in the police cruiser but were unable to spot it. An alarm to area patrols was sent out immediately, said Henry. Otte, Treasurer of the ' Village of Palmyra Chief Fiscal Officer Census Shows Farm Decrease Wayne County showed a total of 1,624 farms in the 1969 Census of Agriculture, according to figures released by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of the Census. In the last previous Census of Agriculture (1964) the number of farms reported in the county was 1,838. Of the county’s total farms in 1969, 963 are reported as selling $2,500 or more of agricultural pro ducts in the year, as compared with 1,187 in 1964. The report also shows average farm size in the county was 140.8 acres, and average value of these farms (land and buildings) was $44,156. Other figures from the report are: 1. Value of all farm products sold in 1969, $28,268,542; in 1964, $30,202,500. 2. Value of all crops sold in 1969, $17,606,191; in 1964, $21,654, 580. 3. Value of all livestock, poultry, and their products sold in 1969, $10371,360; in 1964, $8,476,756. Reported for the first time in an agricultural census is information on the extent to which the corpor ate structure is being used by op erators of farms from which agri cultural products totaling $2,500 and over were sold. Including fam ily farms using this type of bus iness structure, 35 of the county’s $2,500-and-over farms are incorpor ated. Woodhill Opens Sunday, Sept. 25 Grand Opening ceremonies at Woodhill, a $25 million building development at Pierson Ave. and Pardee — Smith Road in the village of Newark will be held Saturday, Sept. 25th, at 10 ajn.
