H o w grateful one is to learn through the study o f Christian Science, w h o s e teachings are in con form ity w ith the Bihle, that the human Jesus w a s sustained, strengthened, and protected at each step o f his m a rvelous dem onstration by his understanding o f the spiritual man’s unbroken r e l a t i o n s h i p w ith his lovin g Father, God. May w e also rejoice in the com forting w o rds o f the angel to the wom en w h o came to anoint the body of Jesus (M a r k 16:6), “ H e is risen; he is not here.” The Christ calls fo r no tinge o f sorrow o r gloom. T h e w a y o f the C h rist is the w a y o f jo y in the presence o f divine L ife and. L o v e , upholding and protecting all w h o understand and fo llo w the Master in deed and in truth. “ G lory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts 1 ” w rites M ary Baker Eddy, th e Dis coverer and Founder o f Chris tian Science, on page 45 o f “ S ci ence and H ealth w ith K e y to the S.criptures.” And she continues, “ Christ hath rolled a w a y the stone from the door o f human hope and faith, and through the revelation and dem onstration of life in God, hath elevated them to possible at-one-nient w ith the spiritual idea o f man and his divine Prin c iple, Love.” The resurrection o f Jesus was m ore than the restoration to norm a lity o f his physical body. It was p r o o f to the w o r ld for all time to come o f the supremacy o f Spirit o v e r all the claipis of m ateriality. Day by day, hour by hour, w e qiay have part in this resurrection as w e strive to spiritualize our thought. Each time an illness is healed through reliance on God’s pow e r , a sor row in g one com forted, resent ment and hatred replaced w ith gratitude and love, human needs supplied, one has tasted the jo y of resurrection and seen in that measure “ m aterial b e lief yield ing to spiritual understanding.” E v e r y right desire, e v e r y puri fied thought, every e ffo r t in helping to bring peace to all mankind, is a step forw a r d in our spiritual progress. This is the joy which abode continu ously with the Master, the joy which he gave to us and which w ill remain in us as w e obedi ently fo llo w in his footsteps.— Tho C lu'istian Science M o n ito r .
