JEFFRIES ISN’T WORRIED. Sails For America, Saying He Can Surely Whip the Negro. Queenstown, Oct. 18.—Before Jim Jeffries, once heavyweight champion of the world, sailed for America he- was- informed of Jack Johnson’s defeat of Stanley Ketcliel in twelve rounds in California. “Ketchel,” said Jeffries, “is trying to feed himself up to make the heavyweight class, but it will only weaken him. Johnson is not much of , a fighter, and he never met a good man. His fight with Burns was no test. Burns is a newspaper fighter. I can' only hope that Johnson will cover my money. I would not fight him if I did not think 1 could beat bim.” One of Jeffries’ friends who is trav- -eling with him remarked that the fight between Jeffries and Johnson would be a joke. Jeffries now weighs 230 pounds, and he says he will fight at 210 or 212 pounds. HgR$JE|$A^E;.SCARCE. The revolutionists, if this rei>ort be true, are now in possession of Corinto, Bluefields, Rivas, Cape Gracias, Rama and San Juan del Norte. In addition they have occupied the telegraph sta tion at Chile, near Rama.
