Mr. Green- halgh was nominated by Supervisor Edgar A. Sharp, of Brookhaven. and the seconder was Supervisor J. Augustus Hildreth, of South- ampton. In accepting the chairmanship, Mr. Greenhal g h declared he realiz- ed the manifold responsibilities of the position. The new board , he said, faces many momentous and pressing problems. Tax reduction was stressed as the main objective. The chairman was presented with a gavel , the gift of the clerks of the Islip town departments. The presentation was made by Miss Joanne Tucker and Kenneth Rhodes, the latter a former clerk to the county board. On behalf of a group of Mr. Grecnhalgh' s friends , L. C.
