He came for his wife who has been helping her aunt , Mrs. Maria Bacon , of Pire Neck , so long and well known a resident here , io pack up and move away, her husband having recentl y died. Mrs. Bacon has always been hel pful and kind . We are sorry to lose her. At the Christian Endeavor meet- ing last Sunday night , in the Presby- terian Parish house , there was a goodl y attendance of forty young people. The chicken supper , given by Loyal Council , D. of A., Monday evening at Mechanics ' Hall , was largely attended , there being about 135 persons there. Dancing was enjoyed by all , the music being furnished by the Invincible or- chestra. The Home circle met at the home of Mrs . William Conklin on Thursday afternoon.
