Her erst- while secretary has pleaded guilty to forging a number of checks in Miss Simon's name, thereby drawing- to a close tes- timony which might have caus- ed the petite film miss no end of embarrassment. It seems » that Miss Simon had a golden key manufactured for the front door of her domicile. The key \was presented (allegedly) to \a friend\ and if the case against Miss Simon's \trusted\ secre- tary and adviser had continued much longer the breathless world (we were all sitting on the edges of our chairs just -waiting for the luscious morsel* to fall within reach!) would have learned the name of the \friend\. Probably with an eye cocked on the box office and with a press agent whispering in her far. Miss Simon was very, very secretive about the identity Of the recipient of the golden key. Humanity being just that and no more, the American pub- He—Miss Simon's public — has put the finger on every eligible bachelor in Hollywood and environs. I mention only bachelors because married men, while they may be seasonal, aren't regarded a* eligible. Not ttntil they've been to Reno, anyway. Be that as it na'v, Mis* Si- mon is beginning to show u* that while she migH: b* a bet- ter actress on the screen, she is holding her own off the screen* The publicity won't hurt her so long as she keeps Jt grata becoming more .eommoa- f>l*e* and lowbrow th*n it al- jren&y ha* j>*com*. and tto*r«*« DAILY TEMPERATURE • Wednesday, June 23, 193S:— * High 91 ' Txiw 64 __ * *•**••*•«•** GRADUATION AT OLY IS TONIGHT Rev.
