Hv.rMom To Mimntn Although Doctor Heos used the flame text and some of tho same stroeta and avonue», yet his addreas still was very different from tho one he gave to men Stmday afternoon, Iii- »te«d of profanity etfeot he used In his address to tho womon \Gossiping street/' and startled tho audience by requesting all who lived oh this street to mtttrtd that ho might know how irtuch ought to bo said about this par- ticular sin, aftd when hono aroso ho suggested that while they might not live on this street they would occas- ionally In tho afternoon ot evening going out for a walk and chooso to Spohd some time on this streot. Gos- siping, ho declared, was the ability to seo things as they are. not, and then ad- vertlit* what they assumed to hove seen, declaring that there was'no man or woroai of any prominence in the city whose future could not be made very different and embarrassing by creating a wrong lmpreialon regard- ing them by gossiping, Lifo is a struggle; none of us ar e o n a holiday, It is a battle at best to live In this world. We do not heed people to say Unkind, Uncharitable things about one another, but more of sympathy and prayer. Many a woman would hat* been saved from ruin if he r ow n sister had only been more charitable aid sympathetic and CUrlstianiike. \Brethren if a man be overtaken In a faUlt, ye which are spiritual, re- store such an one In the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted, Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill th e law of Christ,\ in .the name of tho best interests of your city, your churches* and your homes, let Us as k God to forgive us for our miserable gossiping, and hereafter keep us ab- solutely from Its miserable street. Advice to Mothers With reference to the aln of Im- morality, he gave both to mothers and daughters some moat practical ad- vice. To mothers ha said: ''Know Where your daughters 'spend Iheiu, time, and with whom they keep com- pany, and do not assume because It is your daughter that ther« is no dan- ger, for this sin has robbed all class- es, and sometimes feels Its way into oUr best homes. Education, money, position and even church membership is no guarantee against its encroach- ments. Make companions of your daughters, explaining to tbem the mystery of life. By this companion- ship and Intelligent Instruction keep them from failing. Keep them from promenading the streets at night, and from poorly lighted parks, and enter- tainments that keep them out late at night, and above all from the promis- cuous public ball. Do not be So anxious about your daughter's choos- ing Some employment in store or fac- tory life that may be fraught with temptation and danger thai would not come to her-If she were a domes- tic in some well regulated family.\ Advice to Girls Td the young ladles he said: \Keep your own counsel when traveling, ob- tain information only from those in uniform, and then watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. Guard at every cost the keen, clear, pure edge of your modesty. Give every man to understand that you are a lady. In tho modesty of your attire and your bearing create an atmos- phere of dignity and purity beyond which men will not presume to pen- etrate. Some women have few temp- tations; to others they como like the rolling of the eea. Much of this is determined by the woman herself. It is estimated that out of the three hundred thousand erring women In this country, whose average lives are only Ave years, that one-half of the number at least ha've been snared, sometimes bought and sold to this life of shame, I cannot understand how a young woman, born in a borne of purity, should go out into the life of which the Bible says, \Their feet take hold on hell.\ Moro difllcult in- deOd is it t o understand how one who assumes the sacred vows of the brid- al altar should so soon forget, and what could I say if in this audience there are those who have forgotten the purity of mother, and the stand- ards Of the church, Oh, let me say to you that if you desire a better life, whatever others may have said or done God loves you and longs to set you free, and is declaring for you to- night that wonderful statement with the emphasis of the centuries, \Him that cometh unto Me I will in no wise cast out.\ \Seek ye the Lord while Be may b e found.\ Tonight's Pfognun. To night will be a great night at tho Tabernacle. All tho Sunday schools Will meet in their respective charches, and march in a body to the Talbernaole.
