Engineer Brooks who has charge of the work at the pumping station was the first superintendent of the water works, and no man iu the village is bet ter posted in regaid to the water system here. He says of the drive wells at the reservoirs: \The wells were never auo- oesaful, as after being used two days last winter they could only be used on an average abeut four hours a day before the supply gave out.
