The local employees are seemingly satisfied with the conditions and exist- ing wages. The management is planning a 44-hour working week, carrying with it the present 48-hour scaleof wages. The strikers in the above-mentioned mills have been awarded all their demands, i.e., higher wages, shorter hours, bet- ter working conditions, but are holding out because the company will not grant their demand for an all union shop.
