PAR AD A , RIOT OF RYTHM . COLOR Capt. Eddy ' s Latest Pro- nou nced His Best EXCEPTIONAL SINGING S olos , C horus e s , Dances , Drill s and P arades; Handsome Costu ming and A World o f Talent Developed by E xpert s Make Up a Great Show. The rat her dowii-at-lhe -heel old Opera Hou se refurbished its bedrag- gled finer y and perked up consider - ably in honor of Capt. Kddy, Miss Eddy and the Parada of 1926. Mem- ories of palmy days and other Pamelas of former stars now g rown too fat to sing and dance , were revived; but do- ing full Justice to the days of yore. and mak ing all allowances for the glamour of youth and modern finery, or lack of it , our verdict is that this week' s gorgeou s production is far and away superior to any of its predecessors. Follow ing an all-too-short two weeks ' period of intensive training , the initial performance took place on Wed- nesda y night , and In spite of rain and generall y wretched weather condi- tions, there was a very good house and the per formance ran with surpris- ing smoothn ess. The performance was repeated last night and will also lie given toni ght and tomorrow night. In a cast composed of such a galaxy of youthfu l femininit y when indeed the males are 'way in the minority , it is hard to avoid Injustice and wholly im- possible within the limits of a news- paper column to mention all of the clever features. The opening chorus \Tiny Town '' was sung by a group of little girls with Helen Bailey, of Hlue Point , a | £uveet little soloist. With their ere- iHttine frocks and big bows th ey made klBvery pretty picture. \ in the song, \I Miss My Swiss \ Tim 'Kenned y was the soloist. Tim went through all the motions and his lips moved , but no note of his rose above the din of his vigorous chorus , but as a solo dancer little Tim reall y shone and he had quite a repertoire of clev- er Charleston steps that made a great hit with the audience. The boys of the chorus also did their dance very well Miss Arline Kiear sang very sweet- ly \Sometime \ and while she sang n group of six young women in ruffl ed dresses of silk , performed a graceful dance to the slow waltz time . \The Pance of the (\hick (•hicks. \ done by a clever bunch of little tots who bopped about in unison , was screaming ly funny. In their yellow costumes they looked very much like big, little chickens. A group of boys In Mack face sang \lltackln \ Blue \ and did their dance and drill in masterly fashion. Boys at the very hard est age lo train, they were a credit to them- selves and to their Instructors. \The Scotch hussies \ was one of the best features of the show. The costumes were quite elaborate and per- kv fec tly correct. They sang \Roumln ' in W the Olonmln ' \ and danc ed a Highland Fling with a perfection which would have done them credit on the profes- sional stage . The \Peter Pan s \ wore a bevy of wood s prites In costumes sot off with autumn garlands. They were a group of graceful little girls who did wonder- full y well, both In their song, \Peter J' an \ and in their dance. \The Pon y Ballet\ which did the \Dance of the Pirates . \ was piratical only In costume but their dance and drill was a ver y clever number and they got a generous , round of applause. Mrs. Paul N. Wes terbeke was the s oloist In \I Want to be Ha ppy \ and entered very gracefully into the spirit of the thing. She was supported by a chorus of young women In evening ( Continued on Dago eight) LEADS WILD CHASE Sayville Man Arre sted in New York Saturday Morning .
