The pastor and George Biggs rep- resen ted the Church at the gathering of Methodist men at East port last Friday night at which time a great feast was served , and outstanding m inisters and laymen spoke of the work of the Method ist Episcopal Church in Brookl yn and ou Long Isl- and. The Ladies Aid Socie ty met last Wednesda y in the church at which time' the pastor was invited to attend the meeting to council with thiin con- cerning the best way to advance the work of the society. ' The Ladies ' Aid Society will hold a food sale on Friday, October 15th from 1:30 to 4:30 p. m., in the Grand Cen- tral building. At the meetiug of the Official Board helii last •week the reports showed the excellent condition of the church , financially, due to the excellent financ- ing of the treasurer. It was decided a t the meeting to invite all the people of the church to the Board meetings he ld on the fourth Thursday night of every month at 8:30 p. m. A t the first meeting held for the purpo se of consider ing the bes t night for the mid week prayer service , it was decided to have the meeting ev- ery Thursday at 7:30 p. m. It is hoped that a large number o£ the people of the church will reserve Thursday nights as Church night. The first meeting of the .Methodist Social Union will be held on Wednes- day evening and it is hoped a large num ber of people will plan to he present. This is an opportunity to get bette r acquainted with one an- other as well as to enjoy a good social time. Last Tuesday, the District Superin- tendent called the pastors of the dis- tric t together at Bay Shore for ,i Spir- itual Retreat. The local pastor was present at the gathering.
