Therefore, voters have a choice. If the amendment is defeated, the Greenwich library will get $5,000, and the Easton library will get $1,500. If the amendment is passed, the libraries will not get the money. _ Voters who want the . school district to'support the libraries should vote no on the measure. Those who do not want school taxes to go towards the libraries should vote yes. The amendment will be number three. Of that figure, $898,957 must be raised -by local taxation» The board considered four amendments, which were submitted along with petitions signed by district voters. Three were ap proved, and will appear on the ballot Wednesday,* June 22. The proposals- concern the-Iibrariea-and- yot|th'“coinniisstt5n\S' of Greenwich and Easton, and are explained in greater detail in another story in this issue. A fourth amendment was rejected. It called for a reduction of the athletics fund, In .the amount of $2,905, and for the money to be transferred to teachers' supplies.
