Troopers :e State police of the Salem headquarters made a number of arrests last week. Among those charged were Rene Bi nette of Salem; Thomas LaBarron of Cambridge; Frederick • Pinkerton of Cambridge, and James Betit of Eagle Bridge. Mr. Binette was. charged with assault in the third degree last Weilnegiray by Trooper M. J??escott and Salem Polide C$ue,f Hartney. Arraigned before Justice Franc-i& Blanck, Mr. Bi nette was committed to Salein jail pending family court ‘action. — - — Mr. LaBarron was ar rested on charges of felony driving while in toxicated, and driving while his license was revoked. Apparently he was thé driver in a one-car, personal injury ràoadë®~whteh~^ïnarreci ------- ’— last Wednesday on route 22, Jackson. His car struck several mailboxes, a culvert and guide rails on the opposite side of the road. He sustained a leg injury and was taken to Mary McClellan .hospital. Arraigned before Justice Blanck, Salem, he was sent ot Salem jail in lieu of 84,500 bail. Mr. Pinkerton was ar rested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Arrested June 10, he was alleged to have taken a car May 19, ,without the owner’s perm ission. Troopers R. Winslow and F. Gregory arrested him. He was released on $100 bail, set by Greenwich Justice Keith Mann, to await a June 20 trial. Mr. Betit was charged by Troopers Wescott and Gregory on June 12 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seyenth degree. Mr. Betit was apprehended on route 22, Jackson, at about 3:40 a.m., after he allegedly forced the troopers’ car off the road.
