The subject of the ereotion of a now Court House and County Clerk’s Office en gaged the attention of the Board, The Board resolved tcf consolidate those impor tant Offices; eeleot eomo suitable point and erect a building large enough for all the public offices of the County, so that a pSr- BOn having business with the Sheriff, County Clerk-, and Surrogate, need not.be oompollcd to make threo journeys to aoaomplish his business. The Board will meet at White Hall on the 22 d of January, to decide upon the question of locality .Already several towns are in the field as competitors for the boation, nnrl nmnng thote we notico Argyle, Fort Ann, Rort Ed ward, Salem and White Hall. Argyle Is tbo. most central, but she has no Railroad facilities: Both Salem and Fort Edward ora better adapted for -the purpose than ei ther of the other towns named, with the preference in favor of the former. Other towos doubtless will present their olaiqjs, perhaps all ofthom from Putnam to White- Creok, ^ut only one can be the fcbire town Tho gteat need of the County is a Railroad running through its centre.
