The students recognized as “Students of the Week” for Jan. 14-18 are: Branchport pre-kinder- gartner James Downs and kin- dergartner Kenneth Gray; Penn Yan kindergartners Andrea Davie and Michael Labadee; pre-first grader Melissa Gilbert; first grader Vanessa Peterson; second grader Jason Conover; third grader Josh Coif; fourth grader Kris Career Advancement Scholarshi if t lary meenng. A student at Keuka College, Marshall thanked the club for the scholarship and noted that the $250 grant purchased her books for the past semester. Marshall is studying secondary education/English, and noted that she “loves Keuka.” It is “warm and professional,” she told the club, and “you are really a person, not just a number.” She also noted that she achieved straight “A’s” during the past semester. Marshall also is a ski instructor at Bristol Mountain and briefly described her efforts to achieve top status as an instructor as a “short woman” among many “tall The Penn Yan BPW is cur rently accepting applications from area women who wish to apply for the $250 scholarship, and be con sidered for the BPW Clubs of Dis trict VII scholarship, which may be as Kish as $750.
