O. MILTON RACKETT D. Milton Rackett died at his home here on Tuesday morning, February H, after a long illness. Mr. Rackett was about seventy years of age and had been a lobster fisherman for the past several years. Wash the skin with mild soap and warm wa ter, then pat the face with cold wa ter. Every woman should seardi for a soap that best suits her skin, and then use it once a day, or oftener if her skin is oily. I A D ish fo r the Week I Butterscotch Apples 5 apples , % cup of brown sugar % cup of water % cup of milk A few grains of salt Vi tablespoon of cornstarch % tablespoon of butter •A teaspoon of vanilla Wash, pare and quarter the ap ples; combine the brown sugar and the water and heat the mixture to the boiling point. Add the 'apples, cover and boil them gently imtil the apples are tender. Then carefully remove the apples from the sirup and place them in sherbet or other dessert dishes. Blend together , the milk, salt and cornstarch, and cook this mixture slowly, stirring it constantly until the boiling point is reached; then add the shnip in which the apples were cooked, and cook three to five minutes longer. Remove ^ pan from the stove, add the butter and vanilla, and pour the sauce over the apples. Serve the dessert either hot or cold. A dinner suggested by the College includes; Pot roast of beef, browned potatoes and onions, stewed toma- toies, grated carrot and raisbi salad, whole wheat bread and butter, but- erscotch apples, milk at least for the children, and tea or coffee for the adults.
