The local leader schools held last weclc under the auspices of Lhe Cayuga •County Homo Bureau proved to be highly successful. The instruction given in sewing will now be passed 011 to the women of the various communi ties. Miss Doris Scliumaker state spe cialist from Ithaca, was instructor at tho schools held at Union Springs, Moravia nnd Genoa, and those she taught will be tho commumity tutors. Two women from each of tho com munities were given instruction nnd they in turn will teach the women of their own community thc things leannecl at tho schools. Thc principle of drafting patterns was taken up and the women were shown how to make a pattern for a two piece skirt, the same general directions are fol lowed in drafting a pattern for any stvle skirt so the students are able to make a skirt without a special pat- tcrn. The way to make a dressfonu ns an aid to sewing also was demonstrated. The schools are purely educational and in ino wav commercial.
