The Suffolk County Police Departmenfs First Precinct and other local fire and law enforcement agencies reported the following incidents: CRIMINAL MISCHIEF Babylon Village: A car on Argyle Ave. was vandalized sometime between 10 p.m., Sept 22 and 3:30 p m , Sept 23. Copiague: A fence at a 32nd Street home was vandal ized sometime between the evening of Sept 24 and the evening of Sept 25. •On Sept 20 at 7 a m police were called to a Rte. 27 lo cation following an incident in which graffiti was scrawled on the building. North Lindenhurst Someone made graffiti Sept 21 on a North Wellwood Ave. building. Police were notified at 7 p.m. Deer Park: On Sept 25, just before 4 p m , someone smashed the back window of a car on Sammis Avenue. North Babylon: A shed on Deer Park Ave. was vandal ized the night of Sept 26 in what may have been an at tempted break in. Wheatley Heights: Someone smashed a window of a car parked on Foxwood Drive the n ight of Sept 22. East Farmingdale: Sometime before 5 p.m., Sept 24 someone vandalized a car on Reeves Ave. BURGLARY West blip: Someone broke into a house on Bay Shore Rd. during the overnight hours between Sept 23 and 24 and stole several items. Police were called at 6 a.m. Lindenhurst: An undisclosed number o f valuable took were taken from a shed at a North Lewis Ave. home Sept 22. The theft occurred just before 1:30 am . West Babylon: On Sept 22, sometime between 4:30 and 6:30 p m , someone broke into a Sheffield Ave. home through a bathroom window and stole assorted valu ables. •A laptop computer was stolen Sept 22 from a Hilltop Avenue home. The theft took place sometime between 11:30 am . and 3:30 p m . Deer Park: Entering through the back door of an East ern Avenue home Sept 28, someone stole an undisclosed number of items. The break-in took place at or just before 10:30 a.m. Wyaridanch: Police were told that the upstairs tenants at a S. 29th Street home broke into the homeowner’s apart ment and stole stereo speakers. The victims stated that the theft took place between Sept 24 and Sept 28. Police are investigating. •An undisclosed amount of copper piping was taken from a N. 25th Street house sometime between Sept 22 and 25. GRAND LARCENY Copiague: An undisclosed amount of scrap steel and a gate were taken from a Lambert Avenue facility sometime between 6 p.m., Sept 21 and 7:30 am., Sept 22. North Lindenhurst: A 1990 gray Lincoln Towne Car parked on Gladys Street was stolen just before 4:30 p m (C o n tinued o n page 8) Babylon Village man drowns The body of a Babylon man who was last seen by his wife sitting on the Babylon Village dock was dis covered floating in the Great South Bay shortly before 4 p.m., yesterday. Police responded to the Fred Shore Beach Club after someone observed the victim and called 911. The victim was identified as Edward Dal ton, 79, o f 500 Little East Neck Rd. Dalton was transported to Good Samaritan Hospi tal Medical Center in West blip where he was pro nounced dead at 4:46 p.m. Dalton’s body was taken to the Office o f the Suffolk County Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed. The Homicide Squad is investigating. The marchers stepped lively and the West b lip Varsity Football Team beat the Centereach Cougars 39-0. No one could ask for a better Homecom ing, said several alumni who returned to the Island for the festivities. Joining the parade were PAWS, the education foundation, Miss New York Teen Alexis Magliaro-Voehl (a member of the West blip Class of 2011), cheerleaders, the West blip mascot (aka 12th grader An drew Weinstein), Suffolk County Police, and the West b lip Fire Department, Fire Police and Rescue Squad. Andrea Lynn Lamagna and Steven Shaw rode in a convertible wearing b an ners identifying them as Mr. and Miss West blip. They were joined on the high school field by runners-up Brianna Duc- ey and Adam Clegg. The Sophomore Class won the banner competi tion, with Class Advisors Nicole Cifelli and Kristine Villing. The Senior Class took second place. As the fans filled the bleachers to watch the foot ball game, the district's new Superintendent of Schools, Richard A. Simon, was introduced for the benefit o f those who h ad n o t met him yet. Mr. Simon was joined on the field by Board o f Education Presi- Wesf Islip Superintendent o f Schools Richard A.
