This year’s event is Saturday, Oct. 2, on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church, 25 Broadway, Amityville, just north of Merrick j Road. The event will be held from 10 a.m., to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Apples can be purchased by the bag the day of the festival. You can choose from several different varieties, includ ing Red and Yellow Delicious, Macouns and Macintosh. The cost will be avail able when you place your order. As a special feature this year, Shred-It of Plainview will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will shred your per sonal papers one box per person. Features o f this event include live music,: vendors, 50/50 raffle, and 102.3 WBAB Radio. Trophies will be issued to the first, second and third place vehicle of each class.
