American Legion Post Afternoon Jazz Concert to be held April 25 On Sun., A p ril 25, 3 to 5:30 p.m. American Legion Post 1218, located at 133 Dixon Ave. Amityville will have a Sunday Afternoon Jazz Concert Series performance featuring the Roberto Tyson Trio with a guest artist. For musicians who would like to sit in, a jam session is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and the program is open to the public. Johnson will sponsor a Senior Checklist Forum at the Babylon Public Library, 24 South Carll Ave., Babylon. The program is for seniors and th o s e who care ab o u t th e m . Speakers at the Senior Checklist Forum will be Butch Langhorn of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Kathy Platt from the Suffolk County Office for the Aging and Matt Caracciolo who is the dormer director of the Town of Islip Animal Shelter. Langhorn and his deputies from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will be available to answer questions and take photographs for identification cards with medical information on them. “In Case of Emergency” forms should be filled out in advance and can be acquired from the Babylon Public Library or from Senator Owen H. Platt will be available to Speak on issues that might concern you regarding services and programs offered by the Suffolk County Office for the Aging. Some topics may include EPIC (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage), adult day care, the Foster Grandparent Program, health insurance counseling, HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program), home equity conversion, housing or food stamps. Caracciolo can answer questions about your dog or cat. If you don’t own one, would you like to? How about taking care of animals on a volunteer basis? He will conduct a program to assist you in caring for pets. He has answers to your questions regarding adoption, spaying, volunteering and problems that may occur in older animals.
