O’Connell Copiague High School PTSA is hosting its annual fundraiser fashion show, Spring Into Fashion, Sat. April 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Copiague High School Cafeteria, 1100 Dixon Ave., Copiague. Monies raised will go to the PTSA Scholarship Fund. Elder Care Sem inar April 10 Seniors have more options today than they have ever had in the past. Most o f the issues that come up regard residential options, financial concerns and legal issues. To help them explore these options, a group o f experts will come together to present an Elder Care Seminar at the Babylon Public Library Sat., April 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The guest speakers will include a residential care advisor who works- with seniors and their families explaining the different types of care offered to seniors; a long term care specialist who will discuss whether or not you have the coverage you think you have; and a reverse mortgage consultant, who will explain the process and how it can benefit you. In addition, a real estate specialist will speak about the overwhelming process of scaling down a home for a move or sale; and an elder care attorney will cover how important it is for Power of Attorney and a Health Care Proxy to be put in place prior to a crisis. Finally a representative from an assisted living facility will speak about what life is like at the community, including what kind of services they offer to seniors and their families. Jean won both the audience favorite and second place award at the Montrux Jazz Festival in 2006.
