March 4,2010, BEACON SHOPPER • 7C y Islip missing persons program The Town of Islip Registrars Office will partner with the Suffolk County Police Departm ent to promote community awareness and provide information bn the Silver Alert Program, which helps identify those who suffer from dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease and assist in their safe return should they wander and/or are reported missing. The Silver Alert Program provides an I.D. bracelet, free of charge, to individuals suffering from dementia and/ or Alzheimer’s. The bracelet contains a serial number inscription that will identify the individual in the event that he or she is missing. The missing person can then be returned to a family member or caregiver. Registration forms for the program will be available at the Registrar’s Office, located at Islip Town Hall, 655 Main St., Islip.
