Over 40 Russian fishing boats were seen on this trip with perfect weather wi th little wind or tide (June 18). A great and unbelievable time was had by all , said Al , and everyone carried off 40-50 lbs. of fish in their bags. BABYLON DOCK: Capt. George King ' s party boat King George made a good Saturday catch of fluke in the state channel and Moses Bridge area. Bluefish were also taken on the fluke rigs in the inlet. Capt. Charley Pahl of the charter boat Charles-Marie II chummed bluefish and fluke for his Sunday party. SALTY SAM' s FISHING STATION , Lindenhurst : Capt. Ralph Michels of the open boat Capt. Michels found plenty of weakfish after the storm. Arlene Gilford took the pool with a 6 lb. weakfish on squid and her mother , Helen Guiliano took second with a 5 lb. weak. Capt. Ralph said the weaks were east of the bridge and flounders were still in the inlet. POPEYE' s DOCK , Lin- denhurst: Capt. Bill Hofmann ' s open boat Sea Horse sailing for fluke while the charter boats Klondike and Capt. Jack are catching weaks , flounders and fluke. BABYLON FISHING STATION : Sunday outboarders came in with nice weakfish caugh t east of the bridge on Salty Dogs , while others caught fluke in the Snakehill Channel where a 5 lb. blue took a killy. Walter Schmidt mentioned one of his dock customers who trolled 6 striped bass at the yellow bar on leathers and pork rind. SKI' s FISHING STATION at the Babylon Pool : On Sunday Louis Menese and his friends outboarded to buoy 17 and loaded up 38 weaks on Salty Dogs. Ted Casola boated 50 weaks and Matt Haley likewise. These two fished Bay Shore channel bouy 7. Ob- viously the weaks are still in good shape east of the bridge. Chummed grass shrimp is one of the hotter baits , said Hal Kochmanski. CHARLIE' S FISHING STATION , Bergen Point : Out- boarders and mooring customers are killing the fluke mostly on squid and shiners in such places as state channel at East Fox Creek , by the bay bridge and Coast Guard Station. Vince Barth on two trips , bagged 37 and 16 fish , Dan Kempton 8 , to 4 lbs. and other boatmen , ll fluke. The sdjacent Bergen Point Golf Course is now open and in full swing, said Charlie Crowley . THE ANNUAL SOUTH SHORE MARLIN AND TUNA TOUR- NAMENT , sponsored by the South Shore Marlin and Tuna Club , is scheduled for July 8 and 9. Entries from a dozen or more clubs is expected , according to George Spies , contest chairman. Under the rules of this contest , clubs may enter as many as 15 boats. However , only the top four boats will be scored. Prizes and trophies will be awarded for tuna , marlin and swordfish only, although there will be 10 different categories. A BLUEFISH CONTEST , described as a \Chopper Roundup \ , has been organized by the Amity Harber Fishing Club to Lake place on Saturday, July 8. Fishermen are being solicited either as individual entries or in teams of not more than lour boats. While bluefish are the prime target , stripers , albacore , dolphin and boniteo will also score. Fees are $5 per angler and $10 per team. John Hooper , tourney chair- man , said the contestants will be confined to the use' of two inlets , ' Jones and Fire Island.
