It is the opinion of these people that the village should buy a flag and keep it hoisted above the hall during all fair weather. when old glory should be flung to the breeze from the village hall it is now when the United States is on the verge Of war with Mexico. It would also be showing honor to the local boys who are with Company K in Tex. as and for the reserve men who leave 'his village tomorrow for the Mexican border. SYRIANS ARE REBUILDING CHURCH IN MODERN WAY Work is progressing rapidly on the rebuilding of the Syrian-Greek Ortho- dox church at the.cormer of Main and Becond streets. The church was de- stroyed by fire several weeks ago. The architecture of the building is being thanged considerably. Instead of the building 'being rebuilt along the line of the old architecture it is being raised to a two-story structure. The vid faghioned piazza in front will be removed. The old building was a landmark having been erected nearly 100 years ago. < RLEN HOSE RUNNING TEAM TO RACE ALERTS The Glen Hose running team will meet this evening for a practice run it the company rooms in Main street. The (Glens during the past few days have been perfecting plans for the dif- ferent races they will enter. Next month the team will go to Pittsfield, Mass., where -a-matched race will be run with the Alerts of Adams, Mass. LOCALS AND PERSONALS George Shurter, of Rhinebeck, is spending a few days in town with 3 -_ friends. } Charles Case has returned from a visit of several days in Saratoga Springs. The village board of trustees will hold a regular meeting this evening at 8 o'clock in the village hall. \OBITUARY v George H. Miller, George H.
