There is no need of borrowing vin- always been loyal and true to every right and prin- ciple of American citizenship. Long before his nomination for the Presidency, Charles E. Hughes, has never said to his fellow citizens that they were fanaties when they demanded that the United States be placed in a state of preparedness. Mr. Hughes has not been so un-American as to say we are too proud to fight. Neither of these failings are the prerequisites of militant American citizen- ship. The Democratic plan to fool Progressive and independent voters will fail. The true American will vote for a vigorous American and and Ameri- can policy.
