SUMMER ITALIAN STYLE When mosquito bites, grass stains and ice cream-sticky fingers become too much to bear, close your .eyes and dream your way to Roma. There you are beautifully tan- ned, wearing a silk sundress beneath rose-tinted goggles, lazing away a. golden after- noon in the Eternal City at a chic sidewalk cafe. Shaded by a jaunty :red, white and—blue fringed Cinzano umbrella, you gra- ciously tell autograph seekers that no, you're not Sophia, nor even- Gina. And raven haired Romeo in the white Maserati who's been staring at ydu-could he be a paparazzi? You take another sensuous sip, Cinzano Sweet and JDiry Vermouths. Mixed, of course, on the rocks with perhaps a splash of soda.and a lemon twist, it's wonderfully refresh- ing. Just about the most v delicious accompaniment to people-watching, or anything else you have in mind for this perfect day.. Cinzano is a part of the Italian charm that's equally sensuai in _ America. It is also recommended for secretaries who wish to update their skills in human relations as it applies to an organization. The course content and materials have been recommended by the National Secretaries Association. Classes will run from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning September 17. Registrations and tuition of $30.00 are accepted until September 13 at the Office of Continuing Education, Room 616 Faculty Office Building, 386-7129. Your\ clothes of man- made fibers are wonderfully washable and packable, but they need special care if they're to look crisp and spotless in all kinds of weather. To take the strain out of stain-removing, here are some things you can do be- fore tossing your synthetics into the wash: 1. Treat each stain as soon as you find it, to avoid setting. 2. Always try plain cool water first on washable fab- rics. It is safest, and many •tains can be removed with water alone if they are treat- ed when they occur. 3. Cornstarch or talc will remove most greasy stains, particularly if you catch them before they are dry. Dust on, work into mate- rial, brush off. Repeat if necessary. 4. To remove many greasy stains which have been allowed to set, pour \Dynamo\ liquid laundry detergent directly onto spot and rub briskly. Then pour remainder of the quarter- cup into the load for your whole wash. It works great! 5. Steam from a boiling kettle can eliminate several difficult stains, for example, iodine or rust. First, squeeze lemon juice on the stain. For rust stains, if you can't use steam, apply lemon juice and salt and put material in the sun. 6. Apply ammonia to acid stains. 7. Chewing gum can be scraped off more easily if it is first hardened by rubbing with ice. 8. Hardened rubber ce- ment can be softened by rubbing with petroleum jel- ly and then removed with solvent. After stains are out, pro- ceed as usual with sorting, •oaking, washing and soften- ing. And remember, when using \Dynamo\ you need only V4 cup to treat your •tains and do your whole wash. <» ( !• wwr*r**v*-?vw » 1 *
