Opening their first game on the new arena, recently completed, the Hughes machine wiH be given its test of power, strength defensive- ly and offensively. ' Coach Elliott Hughes has had the team out whenever ice was available and gave practice ses- sions on plays and the handling of the puck in action. No definite lineup for the game Thursday night was issued by Hughes in his statement yesterday. It is expect- ed that the Potsdam team will meet the locals on local ice in the near future. At present, Jack Sullivan seems to be guarding the nets and is a sure man for his berth in the bat- tle. Centers will be picked from Percy O'Shaughnessy, Claude Me- Connell, both new members, and George Markell, captain of the 1937-38 squad. Wing men starters will he se- lected from either Charles Millar, Vernon Taylor, Irving Simser, Levi — .J-; W ,_ ' , ' ! -• ' ' ' \ • • \- ™ \\ Red Raiders to Meet Huskies at Franklin Academy Tonight Potsdam Beats Raiders \1939 ACOA, Grove league Schedules On High School Court \Open Winter-Spring Sessions; To Time of 29 15 Loops Will Roll Until March j| The Massena Red Raiders basketball five was handed one of it* worst beatings Friday night at the local high school court since the upper berths cf the^tandia? opening of the league, by the Potsdam quintet, by a score of 20-15. *\ •jThe Massena Red Raiders basketball five was handed one of its] worst beatings Friday night at the high school coujt since the opening of the league by the Pots- da^n quintet by a score of 2J> to 15.
