(\a”)? ‘L‘Afin SUPER-r“ l-iITf-ffllR BUTT f‘iRFIELI let's be realistic! A tax increase of $20 million dollars? Come on, | never said that. Why, I wouldn't even say -. you sand it! > BUT, while we're on taxes, I did say NO to ... Your 30% increase in taxes ... Your % million dollars for unusable wet lands for a bailfield / ...Your hidden garbage tipping tax Take the tipping taxfor example Granted, a \tip- ping fee\ doesn't sound like a tax, but it- is! A savvy old-time politican like yourself will always try to sneak a hidden tax past the taxpayer when he wants to pad his budget. Every dollar you collect in hidden taxes is a dollar lost from the wallets of Huntington residents. All your outrageous claims are, of course, a smokescreen to hide from the public what you have known since you took office in January of 1976. The Town's landfill in East Northport has become more than an eyesore and a disgrace to a town which is among the most picturesque on all Long Island. It is a threat to the environment and the health and , safety of the residents. e > Mr. Butterfield, your inability to cope with this problem is a disgrace. - Glen Cove, Freeport and other Long Island . communities have reached and successfully mas- tered crisis situations at their own garbage and refuse disposal facilities without raising taxes. Theirs was not much different from the situation Huntington faces now. Fortunately, those com- munities had inspired, able leadership which served them well in a time of great need. Hun- tington doesn't have that same inspired leadership. It has a \nothing is needed\ Supervisor. I can't stop you, Supervisor, from buying time on - the radio and in the newspapers to make your out- rageous claims against me. I can, of course, expect it, since I am challenging you for the position of Supervisor of the Town of Huntington. I can only conjecture that if you were able to apply your im- aginative powers to the task of solving the solid waste dilemma with the same fervor as you do in 'inventing fabrications in my name, you would have discovered a suitable solution long ago. Mr. Supervisor, I don't claim to have all the answers, but | am willing to exert myself in the 624m) seafch for them! CLAIRE KROFT 1 would like to thank all my friends, who believe Claire Kroft Paid for By Friends of Claire Kroft should be Huntington's Supervisor, for paying for this ad.
