-Daughter Banquet Held A Mother-Daughter Banquet was held at the EUenburg Center Fire Hall recently. This\ was the first tune the Brownies, Juniors, Cadets and Senior Girl Scouts com- bined to have their banquet. It was held earlier this year so the girls could have their ^patches early for die show. About 45 Browpies and Girl Scouts.and their mothers ea^yeSjulf^^^ag^atha covered-d^shs^pji^andthe pfe&htarloni \or\ pafehes..The Cadets made me dessert for the banquet for creative cookery. For which they received a patch. Brownie Troop 185, J.unior Scout Troop 134, Cadet Troop 34 and Sempr Girl Scout Troop 6 were presented their patches by their leaders, Cindy Sprague, Manya La- Clair, Peg Cayea, and Debbie Hart. Junior Girl Scout leaders are Joan Hobbs, Mae Magoon, Donna Premo arid Faye Gregory. Cadet leader is Joyce LaBombard and Se- nior leader is Rose Arao. Upon completion of the presentation of patches, the Junior Girl Scouts presented Rose Kloiber with a home- made quilt in appreciation for her time and leadership in scouting. Each girl made a block for the quilt. The Brownies gave Mrs. Kloiber a pillow with all their na^ries signed on it. Mrs. Kloiber will now serve only as a service unit chairman for the Girl Scouts due to health and personal reasons. She has been active in Girl Scouts for five years and has been responsible for keeping scouting active in the EUenburg area. Happy St. Patrick's Day To You! Born March 8,1927 in EUenburg Center, he was the son of Wilfred and Delia (Carter) Rock. Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Vincent; his mother, of Brainardsville; one son, Shane of Chateau- gay; one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Connie) Peryea of Ellen- burg Center; one brother, Howard Rock of Malone; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Delsie) LaMere of Glens Falls, Mrs. Elmer (Dora) Humiston of Brainardsville and Raya Goo- dell of Brainardsville; also several grandchildren and nie- ces and nephews. Funeral services wereheldat 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10 at St. Edmund's Church in EUenburg. Burial will be in St. Edmund's parish cemetery in the spring. Dairy Barn Burns LACOLLE QUE.-Despite assists from firemen in Champlain and Rouses Point N.Y. a large dairy barn on die Dennis Richard Farm off Route 9A burned. Several other fire departments also were on the scene, but unable to do much-but keep flames from spreading to nearby buildings. The 120 by 36 foot barn and two cows weredestroyed in the blaze.
