Youth Hockey Sweeps Massena Tournament MASSENA—Two Rouses Point youth house league hockey teams captured chamionship trophies at the Mas- sena house league invitational tournament February 27 and 28, in Massena, New York. The Mosquito team from Rouses Point, ages 7 and 8 years old sponsored by Anchor Motor Freight and coached by Stanley Alger and Gordon Boag, won their initial match against Norwood, Norfolk 4—0, with Rachel Gor- don, Eric Young, Adam Boag and Brendon Henry scoring 1 goal and 1 assist each. Chad Alger and Josh Speigel also recorded assists in that game. Jonathan Ducatte recorded 0 saves in tending goal. In their second match against Ma- lone, the Mosquitos ran the score to 5—1. Adam Boag scored the hat trick, with Chad Alger and Jason Filion each getting a goal. Goal tender Eric Young had 12 saves against the Malone squad as Rouses Point advanced to the championship finals against North Franklin. Adam Boag recorded another hat trick in the championship game, with Jason Filion scoring another goal. Chad Alger and Jonathan Ducatte assisted with a 4—1 championship win over North Franklin. Ducatte also made 5 saves in goal. The Rouses Point Kiwanis Squirts, ages 9— 10, coached Presidents' Club Honored PLATTSBURGH-Members of the Plattsburgh Col- lege Foundation President's Club were honored at a •, reception on Sunday evening (March 7) at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph C Burke. The President's Club is comprised of individuals, businesses anid corporations who contribute a rriin- imum of |50u for student scholarships. In their second match of the day the Kiwanis Squirts defeated North Franklin 5—1. Dayid Fitts and Steve Wagoner scored two goals in the effort, while Jason Langolois had 1 goal and 1 assist, Jason Favro, Chris DeGrandpre, Andy Henry and Eric Duteau each had an assist. Goalie Matt Mero made 6 saves. During the championship match held Sunday be- tween Rouses Point and Massena, Steve Wagoner scored two goals and Mark Lavender scored one goal with Jason Favro and Andy Henry assisting. Mero had 12 saves in the 3—1 Rouses Point victory. Rouses Point house league Squirts and Pee Wee's host a local tournament in Rouses Point on March 10,13, and 14, 1982 with teams from St. Albans, Plattsburgh, MAHA, Chazy, St. Paul, North Franklin and Lacolle participating.
